So over the weekend I had one total DIY FAIL and one DIY success!
The DIY fail was the board that I stained and then put hooks into to use as a coat rack-
I didn’t want to put 8 screws into my wall so I was planning on cutting off the ends of the screws with my dremel.
I guess the screws are made out of titanium or something because the dremel just WOULD NOT cut through them at all.
There were sparks everywhere and I really needed goggles or something.
So at the end of the day I just decided I’ll buy a dang coat rack- There’s a guy at McKinney trade days who sells them and they are made out of wine barrels which sounds pretty cool and would go perfectly with my wine barrel bench-
In other news I love the blog called newdressaday.com– a girl named Marisa (!) is reinventing a different used/vintage outfit every single day for only one dolla! For one thing she is obviously an incredibly talented seamstress! I would not be capable of just quickly hemming, fitting, tailoring, or the like without it looking REALLY REALLY bad (or taking literally forever).
I really like the concept of doing something everyday for the entire year- you really have to PUSH yourself to be able to do that- but the reward of pushing yourself to do more than you thought you could do is amazing!
Trying to think of someway I could do something similar to this- not for publicity or fans or anything like that but just to push myself to do more than I feel like doing-
Here are some RANDO things perhaps-
think up and put together a legitimate idea for a new business/company everyday for a year
Search for and create a slogan/quote/poem and design a card for it everyday for a year
write lyrics to a short song and post them along with their inspiration everyday for a year
or maybe something else?
