My favorite people over at Young House Love had a thrift store challenge that I was quick to jump on because honestly I will find any excuse to
1: Shop at thrift stores
2: Spend money!
One takaway from this shopping spree was that Dallas thrift stores can be a little too rich for my blood because I did look for some of the items mentioned in the Macklemore rap “Thrift Shop” song (faux fur coats, broken keyboards, moccasins, velour jump suits) and these stores just didn’t have that kind of “low end merchandise”! Which I guess is good for me because they had TONS of AWESOMENESS!

First Stop…drum roll please… Einstein Bagels for sustenance!

Then right around the corner to Genesis Benefit Store (which helps the Genesis Women’s shelter which is a pretty awesome non-profit in the area)
This is in a really nice part of Dallas so prices are typically pretty high but the stuff can be amazing- here are some awesome things I saw
Really pretty huge pieces of art
Tons of brand new lampshades
Pretty milk glass looking vases
One thing from the song (dressed in all pink) probably a designer label pink coat
I also stopped by the Salvation Army store nearby and here’s a couple of cool things they had

MY THRIFT STORE FINDS
And here’s what I DID end up getting!
Awesome vintage globe because I’m starting a globe collection (currently up to 2)
Embroidered storage baskets now storing odds and ends in my entry
Very cool metal piece that I spray painted white and hung up over my etagere in the dining room!
Box from Mexico- I have an obsession with boxes
Pretty brass pieces (maybe candle holders) that look awesome on my tv stand!
And that’s all folks! These purchases set me back about $30 bucks so all in all not too much over budget~
Also with one of my purchases I am organizing a collection I have so that project will follow shortly~
