So I had mentioned my parent’s had gotten a new house and how it was coming along back in this post

The Parental’s New Casa- in progress

but here is the house now that it is close to being pretty much done! They did a great job and it looks fab!

Before: The living room as you walk into the house- had a little too much going on in here…

Lots of very textured walls and heavy furniture

Painted the walls and ceiling an awesome white color and painted the trim, door, re-stained the banister, built-ins, etc..

 hs3

Took the curtains off the huge windows and kept everything very open

Also replaced the stained glass windows with awesome new ones

hs4

Love the red chairs 🙂

hs6

Before: Dining room- pretty heavy window treatments, a mural and lots of dark wood tones and fake plants

After:

Everything is so much airier and the light coming in through the window makes it look much bigger

hs7

Love all the mexican artwork (by Pescina)

Before: Kitchen- overall not bad just didn’t love the ivy or the textured ceiling also the wood was slightly orange in person

Ready to be painted!

After:

Lower cabinets painted a mushroom color and uppers painted white- looks much bigger and much more modern (also ivy removed). Cool mexican pottery styled in the glass cabinets and pops of color everywhere

hs10

Butler’s pantry painted all-white

hs9

Before: Study- very heavy window treatments, ivy, carpet and huge desk

After:

Love how with the window treatments off it makes such a huge difference! Also the wood being stained darker made it so much better- the orange finish was too much- also hexagonal wood floors were put in which look amaze

Afters: Master bedroom

love the color this was painted! Looks so fun and colorful and really makes everything in the room come to life

hs16

Love the beautiful velvet teal sofa and the pops of orange are perfect

Bhs15

Outdoor seating area also has a colorful vibe and I like the modern outdoor rug as well

hs17

Kitchen seating: Love the mid-century modern feel- a lot of this furniture was from our old house and looks like it just belongs perfectly in the new one!

Sitting Area

Love this room so much- it has a lot of special memories and artwork from my nani and also some of her cute furniture.  Just really brings her personality to life and is a beautiful place to relax and read (something she loved doing)

There are a lot of little details I’m missing so there will definitely be follow up posts- maybe it will also inspire me to do something with my own house (we can only hope!)
