Small Updates in the Master Bedroom

So fixing up the master bedroom got me on a roll and I decided to put up some artwork finally 🙂

Also had to try to figure out what I wanted over the headboard-

first up was a really small portrait (painted by Eastman Johnson who founded the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC)  that I thought could look interesting but the proportions were WAY off

and really dark-couldn’t see the painting

Next up was another painting (I had a Ebay painting buying spree happen a couple of years ago and now have quite the collection of 19th century oils!)

But it was a little girly and a little too small I thought

Then I tried a West Elm faux deer head that I had (also hung the portrait over my nightstand)

and I like it!

Might also try a couple of mirrors (Regina Andrews for Layla Grayce) I bought a while ago off of Craigslist–

for some reason these things have rust or something on them that rubs off on the walls…boo…-and they require a bit of work putting up-

Was also thinking maybe a piece of architectural wood? My mom has this cool piece of architectural wood which is what I’m thinking would look good~

Or maybe a bigger piece of artwork- but for now I’m liking the faux deer head- the hubby keeps thinking its going to fall off and kill us in our sleep though 🙂
