Yay for Fridays and back to the wedding!

When I thought about what cake I was wanting, I decided on a simple three layered round cake with a couple of flowers tucked in the layers~

The perfect cake topper was hand crafted by an etsy seller!

I told her I wanted two cranes flying up from the water and she created this beautiful piece!

The cake is the Quatro Leche cake from La Duni (we went to La Duni for our first date!)

~Here it is in all its glory.

The Grooms cakes were from Del Frisco’s Grill and are the Lemon Cakes (the grooms favorite).

They look a little melty because they were in fact melting a bit from the candles!

I made the cake stands the grooms cakes were on thinking it would be a simple, cheap project but it turned out to be a bit more of a pain.

  •  I found the silver platters and the candle holders at several different thrift stores (I don’t know what the deal is with thrift stores in Dallas but prices can be high!)
  • Spray painted the candle holders silver (a friend actually did this for me)
  • Glued them on circular mirrors that mi madre had found at a mirror shop using liquid nails glue.  The liquid nails ended up not working very well and we used a hot glue gun with better results.

Cost right around $25 per cake stand-They looked awesome once they were done and did a great job of holding up the cakes without any problems.
